Hydroquinone Cream USP 30GM

Hydroquinone is a topical skin-lightening agent used to reduce hyperpigmentation, such as dark spots, melasma, freckles, and post-acne marks. It is available in 2% and 4% or higher  strengths.

How it Works:

Hydroquinone works by inhibiting tyrosinase, an enzyme involved in the production of melanin (skin pigment). This leads to a gradual lightening of dark areas on the skin.

Common Uses:

• Melasma

• Age spots

• Sun spots

• Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH)

• Freckles

How to Use:

• Apply thinly to dark spots only, once or twice daily as directed

• Use on clean, dry skin

• Apply moisturizer and broad-spectrum sunscreen daily to prevent further darkening

Side Effects:

• Mild irritation or redness

• Dryness or burning

• Temporary darkening (if misused)

• Rarely, long-term use can cause ochronosis (a bluish-black discoloration of the skin)

Precautions:

• Do not use for more than 3–4 months continuously without medical supervision

• Avoid use during pregnancy and breastfeeding

• Always do a patch test before full application

• Avoid sun exposure and use SPF 30+ daily
